Dr Thabo BisiwePaediatrician
Dr Thabo Bisiwe is a paediatrician in Bloemfontein.
After graduating with a BSc from the University of Cape Town, Dr Bisiwe went on to complete his MBChB at Walter Sisulu University - graduating in 2003.
His passion for paediatrics developed during his internship at the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at Nelson Mandela Academic Hospital. Children would come to the hospital very ill, and the parents would be frustrated and helpless. Within a few days of treatment, the child’s condition would improve, and the child will be smiling and playing.
This brought Dr Bisiwe great joy and satisfaction.
After completing his medical internship and community service in 2005, Dr Bisiwe worked as a medical officer in the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at Nelson Academic Hospital in the Eastern Cape. Then, in 2009, he enrolled as registrar at the University of Free State in Bloemfontein, to qualify as a paediatrician. In 2013, he achieved his goal and qualified with an MMed in Paediatrics at the University of Free State.
Following his graduation, Dr Bisiwe was employed by the Department of Health of the Free State Province and worked at Pelonomi Tertiary Hospital as a paediatrician.
At the end of 2014, Dr Bisiwe opened his private paediatric practice in Bloemfontein.
Dr Bisiwe is a well-rounded, thorough, caring practitioner who aims to make his patients and their families as comfortable as possible. He is bilingual and speaks both English and isiXhosa fluently, and has a working understanding of the Sotho language as well.
