Dermatological Conditions

Dr Bisiwe provides effective and compassionate treatment for infants, children, and adolescents with any skin, nail, or hair disorder — ranging from the common to complex — to improve and enhance the quality of life.

Dr Bisiwe understands parents’ concern for their infant, child, or adolescent’s sensitive skin, as well as the toll that a skin disorder can have on a young person’s self-esteem and confidence. Using the latest medical research, he designs effective, individualized treatment plans designed to meet each patient’s specific developmental, psychological, and physical needs.

By focusing on educating patients and families about skin diseases and health, Dr Bisiwe endeavours to improve health, safety, and prevent permanent cosmetic problems.

Conditions We Treat

Dr Bisiwe cares for children from birth to 12 years of age. He treats a wide variety of skin conditions, including:

  • Acne
  • Eczema
  • Warts
  • Dry Skin
  • Rashes
  • Bacterial infections
  • Molluscum
  • Cold sores
  • Fungal infections
  • Impetigo

Your child is never too young to see a doctor for a skin cancer screening. Everyone, regardless of age, should be checked periodically, especially if there is a family history of dysplastic (atypical) moles, melanoma, or other skin cancer such as squamous cell carcinoma or basal cell carcinoma. While still rare, we are seeing more melanoma during childhood and adolescence. Skin cancer is often preventable with proper sun protection and treatable with good outcomes when detected early.

Dr Bisiwe treats the full range of pediatric skin conditions, from common ailments like atopic dermatitis or “eczema” (chronic red, itchy rash), acne and birthmarks to complex genetic disorders and systemic illnesses affecting the skin.

We know that children often require specialized care and understanding, and Dr Bisiwe is expertly trained to help them and their family through the treatment process. He will review your child’s medical history, assess the condition, and recommend treatment based on up to date research and proven technology.
